Images rather than words have always appealed to Jim for as long as he can remember. From a young age reading a book or a magazine was about flicking through the pages and enjoying the pictures. These days little has changed.

Upon returning from capturing his travels while hitchhiking through Canada and Europe in the 80’s, photography quickly became a hobby that Jim continues to enjoy today. Based in Sydney’s North West, he is drawn to landscapes and seascapes, both the grand and intimate. In recent years, more time has allowed Jim to improve his craft and and whilst not as mobile as he once was, photography not only offers him a creative outlet, but a means to stay active and engaged, encouraging Jim to slow down and really appreciate the moments.

Using long exposures, Jim treasures the quiet magic of sunrise and the warmth of sunset, when light transforms mountains and coastlines into unforgettable memories. Autumn colours, rolling mist, foggy landscapes excite Jim, as do the hypnotic motion of waves and the flow of waterfalls.

This is Jim’s second time exhibiting with Three Edge Framing & Gallery, and he’s delighted to share his work once again in such a welcoming and inspiring space.
